Quinshon Judkins is staying in Ohio.

The former Ohio State running back is heading north to Cleveland as the Browns selected him with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Judkins is the fifth Buckeye to be selected in this year’s draft and the first to hear his name called on Day 2, joining first-round picks Emeka Egbuka, Donovan Jackson, Tyleik Williams and Josh Simmons. He was the first of two Ohio State running backs selected in the second round as the New England Patriots drafted TreVeyon Henderson just two picks later.

Ohio State's 2025 NFL Draft Picks

Judkins spent only one season at Ohio State, but it was one to remember. Pairing with Henderson to give Ohio State a dynamic one-two punch at running back, Judkins turned in a 1,000-yard season for the third straight year in his college career, running for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns on 194 carries following his transfer from Ole Miss.

The 6-foot, 219-pound running back made an instant impact on Ohio State, starting with his commitment announcement, which came moments after Michigan won its national championship. Henderson gave his blessing to Ryan Day for OSU to add Judkins for the 2024 season and in turn, Judkins committed to being in a timeshare so both talented running backs would be fresh throughout the year.

It couldn't have worked out any better, as both tailbacks were fully healthy and played in all 16 games for the Buckeyes. Judkins' best game at Ohio State was arguably his last contest with the Buckeyes, as the Alabama native ran for 100 yards on 11 carries and scored three touchdowns, two on the ground and one through the air on a Will Howard scramble drill, in Ohio State’s national championship game win over Notre Dame. Judkins broke the game open on a 70-yard scamper to start the second half and gave the Buckeyes a large cushion as they eventually won their first national title since the 2014 season.

Judkins was also an All-SEC caliber running back for Ole Miss, running for 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns as a freshman and 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore.

He should immediately play a major role for the Browns in tandem with Jerome Ford as they replace Nick Chubb, who remains unsigned after departing in free agency.

It’s the second straight year and the fifth time in five years that the Browns have drafted a Buckeye. He becomes the seventh Buckeye on the Browns’ current roster, joining Denzel Ward, Jerome Baker, Mike Hall, Ronnie Hickman, Dawand Jones and Luke Wypler.
