COLUMBUS – The Ohio State football team's arrival at the Hyatt Place in Grandview typically signals the start of fall camp.

With the NCAA's elimination of two-a-day practices this year, camp started early: the Buckeyes' first preseason practice was on July 27, and last Thursday – after the summer academic term was complete – was christened as the "official" start of fall camp. Due to the early start, however, the Buckeyes didn't check into their team hotel – which will now be their temporary home through August 19 – until Sunday.

As is customary, Eleven Warriors and other local media outlets were on hand to document the players' arrival, which you can watch in the video above. Ohio State senior defensive end Tyquan Lewis also stopped to talk with the media, which you can watch in the video below.

Although the Buckeyes have already started practice, Lewis said checking into the hotel as a team is an important step of fall camp.

"This is where everybody really comes together to bond," Lewis said. "Moving into the hotel, leaving regular life, it's definitely a big deal compared to any other day."

It was a bittersweet day for Lewis, too, because as a senior, it was the last time he will check into the hotel for fall camp with his teammates.

"This is the last go-around for this training camp for me and a lot of other guys," Lewis said. "I want to make it one to remember though."
