Ohio State commit Jaelen Gill, a five-star running back from Westerville South, has agreed to give Eleven Warriors exclusive access into his senior season with the Wildcats.

He'll join us every Friday with a notebook entry sharing everything from his thoughts on his play to who he's recruiting on behalf of the Buckeyes.

Gill's latest entry comes just hours before Westerville South's game against Big Walnut. The Wildcats are now 2-2, as Gill scored three times in last week's 26-0 shutout of Upper Arlington. He hopes to keep things rolling this evening.

This was my first time playing against Upper Arlington. Our teams met up last year, but I was already done for the season. They usually have a decent team — not flashy, but fundamentally sound.

Our offense took awhile to get going. Thankfully our defense stepped up. Defense had a sack and a fumble recovery in the end zone and gave us an early lead at 7-0, which was still the score at the half.

The second half, our offensive line dominated their defensive line. Our defense made a lot of good stops, and we went on to win, 26-0.

I had 133 yds on 12 carries and three touchdowns.

I'm proud of our team. We bounced back after two losses and played well, focused. We needed that win to stay in the hunt!

Saturday, I headed back to the 'Shoe for the game against Army, this time with two of my coaches. Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of time to hang out with recruits. We got there after the Skull Session.

Being in the recruit room is a little different now. I started as one of the youngest in there and was usually with Marcus Williamson and Brendon White.

I didn't follow recruiting a whole lot, my parents usually knew more of the guys names than I did, until I started going to more national camps, etc. Then I would see some of them at Ohio State and got to know them.

Now, I'm in the senior class and I don't know most of the guys in there because they're all younger. It's a little surreal.

The pregame was exciting, watching them parachute into the stadium was special to see in person. The game was good, offense was clicking. Army players were also on the field with the team for the singing of Carmen Ohio.

This is homecoming week for us against Big Walnut.

I was nominated for Homecoming Court. Thursday, at last period, we had our Homecoming assembly and I got to be announced, walk across the court and show off my tux! Honestly, I clean up pretty well!

Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the game.

Go Cats! Go Bucks!
