Three-star linebacker Braxton Rembert flips his commitment from Wake Forest to Ohio State.
Ohio State has added a third linebacker to its 2026 recruiting class.
Three-star Georgia prospect Braxton Rembert announced his commitment to Ohio State on Tuesday, joining in-state prospects Cincere Johnson and CJ Sanna as the Buckeyes’ linebackers for the 2026 class.
The Rembert File
- Class: 2026
- Size: 6-6/200
- Pos: LB
- School: Mill Creek (Hoschton, Georgia)
- Composite Rating: ★★★
- Composite Rank: #590 (#56 EDGE)
Rembert had been committed to Wake Forest since June, but showed immediate interest in Ohio State after receiving an offer from the Buckeyes on Oct. 26. Less than a month later, Rembert opted to decommit from the Demon Deacons and join the defending national champions.
Rembert is ranked as the No. 590 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class.
While Rembert’s national ranking and offer list don’t stand out, his play has stood out at Mill Creek High School, the alma mater of current Ohio State star Caleb Downs. Rembert has made plays all over the field this season for the Hawks, recording 49 tackles with 11 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception and six pass breakups.
At 6-foot-6, Rembert has an excellent combination of length, explosiveness and quickness that gives him high upside as a developmental linebacker prospect. He’ll need to bulk up before he’ll be ready to play a significant role at the collegiate level, but Ohio State’s move to prioritize Rembert over other linebacker flip targets late in the cycle shows James Laurinaitis’ belief in his potential.
Rembert is listed as an edge rusher by 247Sports but is expected to play linebacker for the Buckeyes, though his height and pass-rushing ability could enable him to play on the edge situationally, much as Arvell Reese currently does for the Buckeyes.
Rembert becomes Ohio State’s seventh commitment of November in the 2026 class, joining four other prospects who were also previously committed to other schools: cornerback Jay Timmons (Florida State), defensive tackle Emanuel Ruffin (Colorado), offensive weapon Legend Bey (Tennessee), offensive lineman Mason Wilhelm (North Carolina), defensive end Dre Quinn (Clemson) and tight end Nick Lautar (Louisville).
