Meant to post this first thing this morning as I heard it on the radio but got busy and just remembered it. Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Robinson turned 80 today.
Frank was the only player to be named MVP in both leagues: the Reds in 1961 and the Orioles in 1966. Won the triple crown in '66, too. Frank was the first black manager in MLB and in both leagues: with AL (Cleveland 1975) and the NL (SF Giants 1981). As player manager of the Cleveland Indians in 1975, Frank homered in his first at bat. There are many more honors and feats I could cite but reaching 80 years is also a commendable milestone.
