A pair of former Ohio State players were released by their NFL teams on Friday ahead of next week’s start of free agency.
Former Ohio State offensive tackle Taylor Decker announced in an Instagram post that he had requested his release from the Detroit Lions, ending his 10-year tenure with the team that drafted him.
Former Buckeye wide receiver Curtis Samuel, meanwhile, was reportedly released by the Buffalo Bills after two years with the team, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

They join the list of players who will now be looking for new NFL teams when free agency opens next week. Free agency officially begins at 4 p.m. next Wednesday, though teams are permitted to begin negotiating contracts with players at noon Monday.
