Former Ohio State and Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord is getting another shot in the NFL.
McCord, who spent the 2025 season on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad after they released him before the start of the regular season, signed a futures contract with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday.
With current backup Malik Willis set to become a free agent, McCord will be among those competing for a roster spot as a backup quarterback behind Packers starter Jordan Love.
McCord, Ohio State’s starting quarterback in 2023 before he transferred to Syracuse in 2024, was selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft by the Eagles but did not play in a regular-season game as a rookie.
