Over the past two years, Ohio State freshman wide receiver Gee Scott Jr. has faced accusations that he was involved in an alleged rape by football players at his high school, Eastside Catholic in Sammamish, Washington.
On Wednesday night, Seattle TV station KING 5 published a story that went into extensive details about the allegations, but also clarified in an editor's note that Scott was not among the players who were present at the scene of the alleged rape.
After that report, Scott – who had never previously commented on the allegations – took to Twitter to thank those who supported him throughout the past two years.
My name has been slandered over the past couple years, and i hope this clears things up.

Scott Jr., who enrolled at Ohio State in January, is entering his first season as a Buckeye. He has drawn praise from many for his off-field character, particularly in regard to his relationship with a homeless man named Jerry who attended his games at Eastside Catholic.
Wednesday night's report from KING 5 came after Stanford rescinded a scholarship offer to Ayden Hector, one of the football players who was a witness in the investigation, though Hector said in his own statement on Twitter that Stanford's decision not to admit him “was not in any way based on me being considered accused or a suspect of sexual misconduct, which I never was.”
