On Tuesday, Boston College named Ohio State strength and conditioning staffer Phil Matusz as its head strength and conditioning coach, and Jeff Hafley is continuing to pull from the Ohio State assistant ranks as he fills out his coaching staff. On Wednesday, BC named Sean Duggan, who was a graduate assistant for Ohio State last season, as its new linebackers coach.

“After working with Sean at Ohio State, he was a guy who jumped out that if I ever landed a head job, I have to hire this guy,” Hafley said in a news release. “He is smart, reliable, sees things on gameday and really understands the big picture. He is well advanced beyond his years and has a chance to be a superstar in our profession.”

Duggan, who worked with Ohio State's defense last year, knew Ryan Day from his days playing linebacker at Boston College, where he saw action in 45 games for the Eagles from 2011 through 2014, when Day was the Eagles' receivers coach and later quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator.
