Are Former Head Coaches Schiano and Wilson Part of the Problem?

After the last several games culminating in the loss to Purdue last night, most fans seem to think that the Buckeyes have lost their identity on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.  Many fans (including myself) also seem to point to Meyer's mannerisms as showing a coach who has lost some fire and doesn't appear to be showing the same fierce competitive nature he once did on the sidelines.

Putting aside scheme, has having former head coaches Greg Schiano and Kevin Wilson as "co" coordinators with Alex Grinch and Ryan Day put Meyer in a position where he is deferring too much control to these former head coaches?

Do you feel having just Day and Grinch, who are both young, up and coming coordinators (relatively speaking), would create better synergy between head coach and the offensive and defensive coordinators? Or has Meyer gotten to the point in his career where he wants to not be as involved with the scheming, hence putting former head coaches in these roles?

I think to some of the recent successful coordinators (Herman, Ash, Fickell) who fit the mold of younger guys trying to prove themselves to get a head coaching job, while ceding their pride to their head coach. While Meyer is not the innovator he maybe once was, has he become too passive with Wilson and Schiano?
