It’s pretty crazy how many guys we’ve had leave early for the Draft since 2015. Not just first round picks either.
Programs like Clemson and Bama have been able to keep guys for their senior campaigns. Clemson kept their entire Dline this year. Bama’s starting RB came back for his senior season.
When Tressel was coach we had tons of first rounders come back for their senior seasons. Will Smith, AJ Hawk, Bobby Carpenter, James Laurinitis, Malcom Jenkins and Cam Heyward all came back for their senior seasons.
Has the Ohio State program just become an NFL farm team? There was a time when players weren’t in such a rush to leave Columbus and they bought into the greatness and tradition of Ohio State football. Even Urban admitted in his performance review that players leaving early is a bit of a concern.
A team captain leaves the program mid season and not one of his teammates cares. Doesn’t exactly seem like a strong program with player leadership to me.
Bosa should’ve been offered an insurance policy by Ohio St this past offseason and players should be allowed to profit from their likeness immediately.
