RE: 2nd Chance Saban | 10 Questions for Finebaum

CC: ESPN/ SEC Network, national media, and the Alabama BOT)

  1. What was the response by the Alabama BOT review of Saban’s text messages and interviews with his wife from Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media when Saban did not apologize by name to Taylor’s 1st or 2rd domestic assault victims, stating: "I'm not sorry for giving him an opportunity," Saban said March 30, 2015. "I'm sorry for the way things worked out."
  2. In response to being asked for accountability on yet another failed Alabama Saban culture of 2nd chances on domestic abuse, weapons and drug violations, did Finebaum believe of Saban “… Instead of being a leader and showing class, he just simply walked up there like someone in grade school who didn’t get his way or wasn’t picked to be on his team… and he expected to get his way.” Or, instead, did Finebaum remain silent?
  3. Considering the crimes of rape and domestic violence at Baylor, what was the response by the Alabama BOT, Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media by Saban,  when “… asked if the situation at Baylor had caused him to reevaluate his stance, Saban declined to directly address what has happened in Waco, saying he didn’t know enough about the specifics.
  4. What was the response by the Alabama BOTs review of Saban’s text messages and interviews with his wife from Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media as to why Saban and Athletic Director Bill Battle recruited, signed and allowed Taylor, with a prior domestic violence and theft charge, to enroll at Alabama, where he committed domestic violence on a woman for a 2nd time? Does Finebaum ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media find it acceptable to call prior incidents of prior domestic violence “mistakes” when referring to players charged multiple times with domestic violence?
  5. What was the response from Finebaum and national media re: the Alabama Athletic Director Bill Battle prepared statement on Taylor’s 3rd domestic assault charge “All of us hope that Jonathan and the young lady involved can deal constructively with the issues that led to this situation, and their aftermath, so that both of them can have productive, healthy futures." Did Finebaum and the national media follow up on the Alabama BOT and with Battle to ask if would make himself available live to the media beyond issuing a prepared press statement?
  6. What was the response timeline from the Alabama BOTs review of Saban’s text messages and interviews with his wife from Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media to the questions of “What did Saban and Battle know, and when did they know it?” regarding Taylor’s 3rd domestic assault charge?
  7. What was the response when Finebaum and the national media learned Hugh Freeze (who resigned for calling escorts from his University phone) interviewed with Nick Saban?
  8. What was the response timeline from the Alabama BOTs review of Saban’s text messages and interviews with his wife from Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media when 2 Alabama football players arrested on stolen weapon and drug charges?
  9. Is Nick Saban’s “Doghouse” an acceptable punitive and investigatory alternative to independent and national media review, as well as an Alabama BOT investigation for players who commit domestic violence, weapons, or assault and robbery of their fellow students. What is the position of Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network and the national media take on domestic violence – is it dependent on if it happens at Alabama, or not at Alabama?
  10. Will Finebaum, ESPN, and the national media address Saban and Alabama’s position on 2nd Chances: "I'm not sorry for giving him an opportunity," Saban said. "I'm sorry for the way things worked out. I'm not apologizing for the opportunity we gave him. I wanted to try to help the guy make it work. It didn't, work. So we're sorry that it didn't work and for what we did and we're going to continue to create opportunities for people in the future and we'll very, very closely evaluate everyone's character that we allow in the program because we all have the responsibility to represent the University of Alabama in a first-class way."

So, if all of this is Saban 2nd Chance “Alternative Standards” deification around domestic violence, weapons, and assault and robbery of your fellow students is OK with Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network the national media and the Alabama BOT (and after checking Saban’s text messages and interviewing his wife), then get off Meyer’s ass and go check for fleas and ticks in Saban’s doghouse – This one is already cleaned out.

But, we cannot do that…

Because the Alabama BOT or outside Counsel never conducted a two-week investigation of Saban, and they never reviewed Saban's text messages nor interviewed his wife, nor of the Tuscaloosa PD …

Because Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network, the independent and national media never made any inquiries or asked the questions during SEC Media Days, or of the Alabama BOT, nor reviewed Saban's text messages, nor interviewed his wife, nor asked questions of the Tuscaloosa PD …

So, do Finebaum, ESPN/ SEC Network, and the national media have anything else to say…and will they even ask any questions?
