The recent troubles and the interim designation of Coach Day, along with the incoming 3 game suspension for Urban Meyer got me thinking about how even without Meyer Ohio State is such a strong program they would still win all three of those games. It then got me wondering how Coach Day would do if Meyer had been fired--again, I believe even assuming Day is only a middling coach (I think he's much better than that) a 9 or 10 win season would still be likely. And that in turn led me to wonder how other head coaches would do if you plugged them into the control seat, how many wins/losses they'd accrue. Assume that we're using the 2018 schedule, not a random or hypothetical one. Other than Meyer, the head coach would inherit all of OSU's current coaches and players.
For an example, I believe if you plugged Nick Saban in, an 11 or 12 win regular season would be quite likely, as well as a Big Ten title and a playoff trip.
