I've been having a hard time coming up with a framework by which to assess the Zach Smith story. I believe that the story revolves around the relationship between the severity and the credibility of the accusations against Meyer. (emphasis: against MEYER. That is linked, but not identical to the severity and credibility of accusations against Zach Smith.)

This is entirely my read of the situation. It's possible (likely, even) that I've forgotten or excluded some major events. I've definitely tied some together because they're almost from a timing perspective, they happened so close together it's almost impossible to fully digest one story without coloring from the other story.
