Did anyone see the SI OpEd today? It is in the beginning of the issue. BLUF, it states that Urban is in this trouble because he spends too much time being on a high horse instead of focusing on football. The piece really assumes a lot of guilt in order to be credible. I thought it was a piece of trash. Let's be honest: no one is perfect, but should that keep us as a society, as leaders from striving toward ultimate goals? The argument in place by the writer was that Coach Meyer shouldn't focus on making his players, or himself, for that matter, better people, just better football players. It would keep him out of trouble and would keep other coaches from hating him. Seriously, that was the point!! I couldn't believe it as I read it. It really was trash. Thoughts? A perspective I missed? Have at it.
I cannot find the link on SI.com, but it was written by Michael Rosenberg
