With the article posted this morning about the out of conference pay outs it got me thinking about what out of conference team I would like to see on our schedule every year. I believe the obvious answers are probably Notre Dame and USC. Those were the two I was battling between anyway.
I settled on USC because:
- More west coast exposure for recruiting (not that we need it, but nothing wrong with more).
- Our team would have to travel to a hostile environment early in the season on away years for a good early season test.
- It gives us fans a reason to head to California every other year if we so choose.
- Should be a perennial top 25 match-up most years.
- Columbus businesses would gladly welcome the USC contingent in for the weekend to spend their hard earned
trust funddollars. - (And selfishly I still have that image of Stefan Johnson, 2009, burnt in to my memory... Would like a different memory of USC at Ohio Stadium ASAP.)
So yeah, give me USC every year.
