The coaches haven't said which safety position Jordan Fuller will start at. Either the boundary safety (traditionally strong safety,) or the field safety (traditionally the free safety,) will have a spot open for the following players -random order:
1) Isaiah Pryor 6-2 197 SO
2) Josh Proctor 6-2 198 FR
3) Brendon White 6-2 210 SO
4) Jahsen Wint 5-10 196 RS SO
5) Marcus Hooker 5-11 192 FR
6) Tyreke Johnson 6-1 193 FR
7) Amir Riep 5-11 195 SO
Pryor might've been the leader at one time, but not sure he can hold off some of these guys. I can see Wint, true freshman, Proctor, Johnson, and possibly White taking the starting spot.
Assuming Fuller plays field, the boundary safety also must have excellent coverage skills as opposed to the traditional SS. He doesn't necessarily need the range as the field safety does, but he must have coverage skills.
It will be interesting to see who grabs the spot. Either way, seems like we have amazing options. I could honestly see any of these guys doing it. (Maybe not Hooker as he's had a setback for immediate PT already.)
