Per his Instagram post, it looks like Ohio State tight end and former Maple Heights (Ohio) four-star Kierre Hawkins will be transferring to Youngstown State pic.twitter.com/J5u6VLxJ8g

Not entirely surprising has he has been buried in the depth chart. In fact, it has only gotten worse since he joined the team has Rashod Berry moved into the position after him. With Ruckert on the way in, and the fact Hawkins name is never mentioned, it was unlikely that Hawkins was ever going to emerge from the loaded 3 tight end haul from 2016. He was a composite 4*, #13 TE in the country. Jake Hausmann and Luke Farrell were the #4 and #7 TEs in the class, respectively.
Kierre is from Maple Heights, OH. That area has some of the Youngstown rust belt feel, likely adding to the attractiveness of the destination.
