This will be the second time Ohio State has played in the Cotton Bowl. 

The first was against Texas A&M to end the the 1986 season on Jan. 1, 1987. No. 11 Ohio State defeated No. 8 Texas A&M 28-12.

It will be the third time Ohio State has played on 12/29.

The last time was in 2004 when the Buckeyes beat Les Miles and Oklahoma State 33-7 in the Alamo Bowl.

The first was the loss to Clemson in the Gator Bowl and Woody Hayes' last game as coach.
