Hancock is in the room during all discussions. He was on the Finebaum show yesterday, and this is what he had to say. 5-8 slots are "very close together" with different resumes; but "a lot alike". The Committee spent a lot of time looking at the 5-8 group. Does a"Conference Championship trump head-to-head? ... in some cases it might". The "4 tiebreakers come into play with no weighting and no order". Hancock basically said Ohio State had better wins but he had to correct himself after he initially said Bama had better wins. Alabama and Ohio State are "close". According to Hancock, Clemson "lost a game it shouldn't have lost" and "to a team that did not win a game after it beat Clemson". Finebaum asked does it matter that Alabama will get some of its players back for the Bowl season? Hancock said "no, it can't be part of the calculus."
