Last Thursday I attended the charity auction that benefits student athletes and the technology fund. It was held on the floor of the Shott, red carpets were everywhere as well as were open bars and heavy hors d' oeuvres. Each guest was greeted upon entry into the Shott by the OSU band playing just for you. After that you walked a gauntlet of current players and student athletes who greeted you individually. We were escorted to our seats by two members of the ladies softball team who were as pleasant and friendly as could be. We had assigned seats within 20 yards of center stage. Price to get in was $150 a couple and included all you could eat or drink as we as mingling with Eddie George, Beanie Wells, Thad Matta, Bobby Carpenter, Gene Smith, Raymont Harris and Jimmy Jackson. Coach Meyer made a special appearance at 8pm and after finishing practice and gave a short speech. We were given OSU wine stoppers, OSU drink coasters, and gift bags. This is the second time OSU has held such an event, my first attendance. I talked to Gene Smith and he said that they plan to do it every other year to keep it special. For any of you who have not heard of it or who thought about it but did not go, I strongly urge you to attend next time. I was hesitant to drop that kind of money on a charity dinner, but after going, I will never miss another one. It was a great event benefiting a even greater cause. Go Bucks!!!!

P.S.

Dinner on the 50 for you and 49 of your closest friends along with Urbz and company sold to the highest bidder for just under $200K. The 12-0 Row signs that were on Lane Ave went for $8k each.....WOW!!!
