Deshaun Thomas apparently will be signing a tender deal and will participate in Spurs training camp.  Hopefully he gets a legit shot.  If he hadn't been draft-and-stashed by such a deep rostered team he would be a role player at least on some team I would guess.  But if he does make the roster the Spurs obviously would give him a great shot at developing into a solid rotation player.
