This is the end.

Hold your breath and count to ten.

Feel the Earth move and then.

Hear my heart burst again.

For this is the end.

I won't recap this game as though I could watch or follow it. Family functions come first, even on the biggest game days of the year. But aside from being one of the better Bond themes, Skyfall seems pretty dang appropriate for this season.

Enough that a 3rd Ohio State lacrosse post is warranted. The Buckeyes, in every way, were unacceptably bad this year in all facets except defense. Lose the best defensive returner in the country? No problem, they posted the best numbers of Nick Myers' entire tenure. Maybe the best ever, in this shot clock era at least.

It was everywhere else that regressed. Terribly. Faceoffs were demonstrably worse. Every offensive metric was pure awful. And the injuries. Oh my, the injuries.

If a decision comes for a change at the top, it won't likely be until after the May 21st Trustee meeting. Late May or early June seems to be the usual time to announce spring sport firings.

I think I disagree with Jamesgandle a little and think that this AD pulls the trigger. The financial cost is 6 months salary as a buyout, a paltry sum for this athletic department when compared to paying a full year's salary. They probably could break even with a new hire.

At the end of the day, Nick Myers is 4-6 in his last 10 games against the Wolverines. The program hasn't won a national tournament game since 2017, and only has 2 appearances in the seasons since. The program had legitimate Final Four or bust aspirations this year. This is a total failure from top to bottom.

There must be an accounting. This is a premier spot in a premier league for collegiate lacrosse. The program should be getting better year over year. It has demonstrably not done that.

I am not going to caterwaul night and day. But if this doesn't require change, I don't know what does.
