Emeka Egbuka goes to the Buccaneers at No. 19, Donovan Jackson is chosen by the Vikings at No. 24 and Tyleik Williams is selected by the Lions at No. 28 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Doesn't matter how. The holes. The problems. The challenges. The quarters of terrible play. OUR Ohio State Buckeyes have won their first EVER Big Ten regular season championship, their first ever #1 tournament seed in the Big Ten, and their best ever conference win total. Oh, and did I forget to mention that it was all done in ANN ARBOR????
Snapped a 4-game losing streak dating back to 2022, put up the best regular season in modern Buckeye lacrosse history, and have risen from some horrible depths to get to the promised land!
Things were bleak after 3 quarters. It was 7-5 Wolverines, the Buckeyes allowed a cheap goal to make it 8-5, and all looked lost. But then...magic.
Pure. Buckeye. Magic. Gannon Matthews scored two magnificent solo goals to get the score to 8-7. Both on dodges resulting in absolutely insane shots to the upper right corner.
Ed Shean buried a pass from Garrett Haas to tie it up at 8 around 2 screening defenders. Shane O'Leary nailed a crazy bounce. And then Gannon Matthews, with under a minute, pinned down in the corner, slithered through to score on an empty net with just a few ticks left.
Ohio State saw out the rest of the game in nail-biting fashion, and now, we freaking PARTY!!!!!!
None but this precious few saw this happen. The main board gets scant attention for the Buckeye lacrosse teams. But no one's ignoring them now! Your 2025 Big Ten regular season championship belongs to Ohio State forever!!!
Hell yeah! Everything else can wait, there's blood in the water and a mark to be made! BRING ON THE POSTSEASON
