There’s still a bit of Gene Smith hate around these and other OSU parts.  The resurgence of OSU b-ball has me thinking about how great a job he’s done.

He sure botched Tatgate follow-up. If we self-impose sanctions and don’t play in a meaningless bowl game after a 6-6 season, Urban Meyer wins us the National championship over ND in 2012.  

However, his track record shows he’s one of the top, if not the best ADs in the nation. 

Look at OSU sports. Almost every one of our teams has top coaches and can compete for Big 10 & NCs year in and year out.  He’s fired good/beloved coaches because we weren’t competing like OSU should. Our facilities ... our graduation rates, etc. all very very good. 

For me, I’m over 2011. The end result of that was Urban Meyer. So here’s and off-season thread in praise of Gene Smith.
