Dylan Raiola is entering the transfer portal after two years at Nebraska, according to multiple reports.

It’s far from the first time Raiola has changed schools. He played for three different high schools, and committed to three different colleges as a recruit, initially committing to Ohio State before flipping to Georgia and later to Nebraska.

The five-star recruit, who was initially ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class before being overtaken in the 247Sports composite by Julian Sayin and DJ Lagway, started 22 games at Nebraska. A starter from the first game of his freshman year, Raiola completed 69.1% of his passing attempts for 4,819 yards and 31 touchdowns with 17 interceptions across two seasons before suffering a season-ending leg injury in November.

Speculative potential transfer destinations for Raiola include Texas Tech, where he could follow in the footsteps of his idol Patrick Mahomes, or Miami, which is expected to bring in another transfer quarterback for the 2026 season after bringing in Carson Beck this year and Cam Ward in 2024. 247Sports’ Chris Hummer reported that Oregon, which could be in the market for a quarterback if Dante Moore enters the 2026 NFL draft, is an “early school of interest” for Raiola.

Raiola was one of several high-profile quarterbacks to signal their intent to enter the transfer portal on Monday. Lagway announced Monday that he’s leaving Florida after two seasons. Other notable quarterbacks who announced Monday that they’d be entering the portal include Cincinnati’s Brendan Sorsby and Michigan State’s Aidan Chiles.

The transfer portal will officially open for the 2026 season on Jan. 2.

Raiola was committed to Ohio State from May 2022 to December 2022 before decommitting. Ohio State ultimately ended up signing four-star quarterback Air Noland in his recruiting class, then brought in Sayin – who’s lived up to his billing as the top-ranked quarterback in the class, finishing fourth in this year’s Heisman Trophy race – one month later when Sayin transferred to Ohio State from Alabama.
