Herbert, a four-year starting quarterback for the Ducks, is a three-time Academic All-American who carries a 4.01 grade-point average.
Ohio State safety Jordan Fuller, who is also a three-time Academic All-American, was among the other 11 finalists for the award. While he didn't win the trophy, he doesn't go home empty-handed; as a finalist, Fuller is named as an NFF National Scholar-Athlete and receives an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship.
