It's the best time of the year, when we get to root for B1G teams in meaningless games in order to gain some respect in regards to the SEC. Another example of how important conference perception as LSU got the 1 seed ahead of OSU despite OSU playing more ranked teams and beating higher ranked teams by more points. So what is your prediction for the B1G W/L?
- Rose Bowl-Wisconsin vs Oregon-two teams lead by their offensive lines and Jonathan Taylor vs Justin Herbert. Both teams also have pretty solid defenses as well. Won't be high scoring. Wisconsin is -3
- Holiday Bowl-Iowa vs USC-USC is in an interesting spot with fan unrest after keeping Helton and unending praise being heaped on Helton for being ranked 23 in the final rankings. USC's top 10 pass offense will be against Iowa's top 10 pass defense. The ultimate over-performing 3 star vs underperforming 5 star game. Iowa is -1.5.
- Cotton Bowl-Penn State vs Memphis-PSU gets the G5 team in the Cotton bowl, Mike Norvell is going to FSU which is interesting to see how Memphis plays. PSU is fairly young so they shouldn't have any guys sitting out. PSU is -7.5
- Redbox Bowl-Illinois vs Cal-Illinois is in their first bowl in awhile, Illinois has a lot of USC transfers which is a stroyline I guess. Cal is -6.5
- Outback Bowl-Minnesota vs Auburn-A very interesting game that could see some Auburn Dlineman sit out. This would be a big statement win for the B1G/Minnesota. Bama threw all over Auburn so it would be interesting to see if Minnesota can do something similiar. Auburn is -8.
- Gator Bowl-Indiana vs Tennessee-UT came on late in the season and Indiana has had one of its best years in recent memory. Both teams have a lot of momentum going into this game and could use this game as a springboard into next year. Pick em
- Pinstripe Bowl-MSU vs Wake Forest- Another bad year for Sparty. Two boring style teams playing in very cold weather guess we will see who is tougher. Interesting game for the B1G as its a lower tier B1G school against one of the best ACC teams. MSU -3.5
- Asshole Bowl-Michigan vs Alabama-This is the best non-NY6 bowl game for sure. How many Bama players will sit out? Will Michigan hype this game up with the risk of a loss? Potential to be the Michigan starters to beat on the Bama back ups. I know most don't include Michigan in their rooting interests but this would be the biggest non-OSU win for the conference. The fourth best B1G team beating Bama would be hilarious and give Harbaugh a lot of momentum. Bama-7
- Clemson is +2 over OSU
The Vegas prediction is 4-4-1 for the B1G if the lines hold.
I personally think Michigan pulls an upset and OSU beats Clemson pretty easily with Indiana losing to UT so the B1G goes 6-3(7-3 if you include destroying LSU in the championship)
