In his weekly press conference he was asked if he wanted to coach next year. His response was "Yes, I want to complete the circle." They are currently 4-6 and will have to beat Rutgers and Maryland to reach a bowl game. Dantonio is squarely to blame for the regression of MSU. After a bad year last year he refused to make any changes to his offensive coaching staff and simply shuffled their positions around while changing play callers. It is unknown if the MSU AD would give Dantonio another year. He has lead MSU to the best era in modern history beating OSU multiple times and until the past couple years owning Michigan and PSU. He deserves some loyalty for what he has accomplished. The problem with keeping him is his complete reluctance to make a staff change offensively and he continues to recruit poorly. Giving him one final year may just end up making the job look worse and making the roster that much further from competing with the rest of the B1G East.

Luke Fickell would be an updated version of Dantonio who will recruit Ohio very well while also letting the offense try to be succesful. Matt Campbell bringing in his 3-3-5 defense designed to shut down the spread could be scary for OSU/PSU/Michigan(I guess.) If MSU wants to win they will hire one of these two.
