Last week, Jeff Long, the new AD at Kansas, proposed to his fellow B12 ADs that schools should be able to bring in 50 new players over a two-year period. Obviously, this is a response to the depleted state of Kansas football. The attached article covers the why and the pro's and con's. One note from the article: It quotes Houston Nutt as saying he brought in 38 players and wished he could have had more. When OSU beat Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl (yes, I still count it as a victory and have a t-shirt to prove it), I counted up recruiting classes and found Arkansas had signed 25 more players to scholarships than OSU in the previous four years. An entire recruiting class. Keep in mind both schools had an 85-scholarship limit.
