I hate this excuse. They LOVE this old chestnut up in Ann Arbor, but it’s not a specifically TTUN problem. I contend that other than the QB position which is highly system specific, that you recruit the best players available from the same pool of talent that every other team is going for. You need a defensive end? You go for the best available that shows mutual interest. Why do we give failing coaches this pass year in and year out? To use Harbaugh as an example, what is significantly different between his classes and Hoke’s classes? Would he have turned down Mo Hurst and Chase Winovich? Would Hoke have passed on DPJ? I just think it is the most horseshit copout to explain why subpar coaches can’t win football games.
