Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin will be fired following the Aggies’ regular-season finale at LSU on Saturday night, multiple people with knowledge of the situation said.

Sumlin is expected to be dismissed in the day or days following the A&M game against the Tigers. The Aggies are a double-digit underdog to the Tigers, and an A&M victory wouldn’t save his job at this point, the sources said.

Sumlin has two years remaining on his contract that pays $5 million annually, and the two sides are expected to negotiate a buyout in the range of $10 million.

Kirk Herbstreit weighed in on all of the possible coaching moves during his latest Herbstreit & Fitzsimmons podcast.

“Tennessee is already open with what happened this past week. Florida’s been open. You touched on the possibility with Jeff Long being let go as AD at Arkansas, Bret Bielema (could be next), they’ve had their struggles, possibility there. Texas A&M, with Kevin Sumlin, I’m already hearing crazy rumors that Jimbo Fisher at Florida State could go to Texas A&M if that does open up,” Herbstreit said. “You’re talking five jobs in the SEC opening up.”
