Rating were up from last year (I'd argue because of OSU's inclusion, no matter how woeful the performance.), but still don't come close to the first year on New Years Day.  To me, the solution is obvious: Make the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl the permanent semifinals on New Year's Day (the Rose Bowl isn't moving), but make them ineligible for hosting a championship game.
