B/R has an interesting article on Canadian football talent and how it is largely ignored by US teams.  Some points they make:

1. The talent is spread then so a coach may only see a couple guys in a visit vs 20 or more in a trip in the US.

2. There is a perception that Canadian talent isn't nearly as good as the US despite a provincial all star team beating US teams in football a couple of times.

3. Most players don't start playing until HS so they are not as developed as US kids and thus much more raw and will require more coaching to develop.

4. Some schools play by US rules so they are familiar with the US game vs. the Canadian one.

Some players are transferring to US prep schools to get noticed, others send out highlight reels to as many schools as possible, and there are coaches and others trying to increase awareness of Canadian talent.

OSU has had some Canadians on the roster, as I recall. If Baltimore can win the Grey Cup then the NCAA could add some Canadian schools to increase awareness of local talent.
