I decided to do this, just for fun, but I'm doing a playoff bracket with Alabama vs UCF in the Cotton Bowl and Clemson vs Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.

First I simulated the Cotton Bowl. Alabama got the ball first, but was stopped on that drive, then UCF took it 91 yards down the field for the 7-0 lead. Then each team responded to the other and we are tied at 14 with 2 minutes left in the first half. Alabama then stopped UCF and went down the field and cored to take a 21-14 lead. Alabama stopped UCF again, but the half ended, so the score at halftime, was still 21-14 Alabama.

After halftime, UCF went down and scored a field goal to cut the deficit to 21-17. Each team stopped each other once more and at the end of the third quarter, it was 21-17 Alabama. After a few stops by each team, UCF converted a 4th and 1 for a touchdown to take a 24-21 lead with a minute to go. UCF got Alabama to a fourth down, but Alabama turned it into a first and goal where Alabama took a 28-24 lead with 10 seconds left. A UCF hail mary fell to the ground and Alabama survived to make it to Santa Clara.

In the Orange Bowl, Clemson got the ball first, and (reminiscent to this year) Ohio State gave up a big play for a touchdown. 7-0 Tigers. Ohio State responded with a field goal to make it 7-3. After another big play, Clemson scored another touchdown to take a 14-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ohio State was driving, but the QB fumbled, but after review, the call was reversed. Ohio State retained possession. Ohio State then finished the drive with a touchdown to cut the lead to 14-10. After stopping Clemson, Ohio State drove down and scored to take a 17-14 lead, but after yet another big play, Clemson took a 21-14 lead. Then Ohio State drove down again and scored a touchdown to take a 24-21 lead at halftime.

After halftime, Ohio State scored a touchdown to go up 31-21. On Clemson's next possession, they were driving, but Ohio State intercepted the ball, and went down and scored a field goal to take a 34-21 lead. Clemson them responded with a touchdown. 34-28 lead for Ohio State at the end of the third quarter. Ohio State then drove down and scored a touchdown, but failed on the two point conversion. 40-28 Buckeyes. On Clemson's next drive, Ohio State forced and recovered a fumble and turned it into a touchdown to stretch the lead to 47-28. Clemson then drove and scored a touchdown, but Ohio State recovered an onside kick. 47-35 Ohio State with under 3 minutes left. Ohio State then scored a touchdown with 1:30 to go to take a 54-35 lead. Another big play resulted in a Clemson touchdown, and with 1:15 left, the score was 54-42. Ohio State recovered another onside kick, and Ohio State took a couple kneel downs to end the game. Ohio State "finally" got the better of Clemson and would meet Alabama in Santa Clara for the championship.

In the championship game, Alabama got the ball first, and scored a touchdown. 7-0 Bama. After a couple stops by both teams, Alabama had a 7-0 lead after the first quarter. Ohio State was driving, but an interception cut the drive short. Ohio State then forced a 3 and out, but then went 3 and out themselves. Alabama then drove down and scored a touchdown to take a 14-0 lead. Ohio State then drove down and scored a touchdown right before halftime to cut the lead in half. 14-7 at halftime.

After halftime, Alabama stopped Ohio State and wemt down and was stopped on 4th and goal. Ohio State then got tackled for a safety. 16-7 Bama. After the safety punt, Alabama drove down and scored a touchdown, and got the two point conversion to end the third quarter. 24-7 Alabama. To start the fourth quarter, Alabama recovered a fumble and took it back to go up 31-7. Ohio State then failed on fourth down and Alabama scored a touchdown. 38-7. After a couple more stops by both teams, the game ended in a 38-7 Alabama victory.

The semifinals were fun to watch, and overall the whole process was fun to do, but I hated having to sit and watch the championship game even though it's just a video game. But anyway, Alabama is the national champion in these simulations
