Hey, what's up? AC guy is on the way to repair my AC unit, but until he gets here, it's 86 degrees inside my apartment, so you'll forgive me if this edition is a bit skimpy.
We're starting off with one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite metal bands, in fact my favorite metal band that I haven't seen in concert: Opeth. This song is one of their longer works, but absolutely worth the time invested in listening. Composed of several distinct movements, the song works like a death metal symphony. This is "The Night and Silent Water."
Next is a song I was listening to on the way home from work. This little number from Indie/Electronica group Passion Pit is driven by a hypnotically catchy keyboard riff and carried off by lead vocalist Michael Angelakos's desperately saccharine vocals. This is "Cuddle Fuddle."
Last up is a great song from one of the premiere rappers of our day, Kendrick Lamar. This is "LOVE (feat. Zacari)"
