In spring of next year, I'm getting my first poetry chapbook published by Finishing Line Press out of Kentucky. A chapbook, for those who may not know, is a short book, usually of poetry (though there are also fiction, nonfiction, and hybrid-form chapbooks as well), often in the range of 15-35 pages.
This one is called Book of Never, and is comprised of poems I wrote between late 2015 and early 2018, all of which share the common themes of the supernatural, folklore, and skewed reality, hence the title (I originally considered "Book of the Impossible"). The cover art (which I adore) I found online, a painting by a Swiss artist who was very pleased to have their work featured on the cover of a book. The painting's title is "Wendigo," referring to the cannibalistic monster of Algonquian folklore, to whom one of the collection's poems is dedicated.
Needless to say, I'm very excited, and over the next few weeks when the preorder period begins I'll be very busy promoting it among friends and colleagues in the literary world.
