Canadian power trio Rush released their second studio album 'Fly By Night' on February 15, 1975.

Track listing:

1. Anthem

2. Best I Can

3. Beneath, Between & Behind

4. By-Tor & the Snow Dog

5. Fly by Night

6. Making Memories

7. Rivendell

8. In the End

This album marks the first album with drummer Neil Peart, after founding member/original drummer John Rutsey left the band due to health complications and musical differences.  In addition to joining the band, Neil Peart was the main lyricist for the 'Fly By Night' album.

Albums were produced much more quickly those days. The album was recorded in December 1974/January 1975, and released in February 1975.  Rush would release their third album 'Caress of Steel' later in 1975.

The most recognizable song on the album is the title track 'Fly By Night.'

The second single from the record was the song 'Making Memories.'  This album included their first multi-part composition with the track 'By-Tor & the Snow Dog.' Future albums would also contain more multi-part compositions.

"By-Tor & the Snow Dog

I: At the Tobes of Hades
II: Across the Styx
III: Of the Battle

a. Challenge and Defiance
b. 7/4 War Furor
c. Aftermath
d. Hymn of Triumph

IV: Epilogue"

'Fly By Night' peaked at 113 on the US Billboard 200 chart.  The 'Fly By Night' lineup of Rush has remained the same power trio (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart) to this day.  As of today, they have gone on to release 18 more studio albums and 11 live albums.

In December 2015 Neil Peart stated in an interview that he was retired from music. Lifeson and Lee disputed that, saying they could possibly do shorter tours or soundtrack work, but it remains to be seen if Rush will perform live in the future. In 2015 they wrapped up the R40 tour, marking this trio's 40 years together as a band.
