For those of us that spend the winter months skiing in the great state of Ohio I bring bad news. Mad River Mountain's main lodge has caught on fire and early pictures look bad. Real bad.
Fortunately there have not been any reports of anybody being injured. NBC4 has more info. Best wishes for Mad River Mountain. I hope they will be able to recover in time for the season.
UPDATE: The 52-year old lodge is a total loss. The good news is that nobody was injured.

The lodge at Mad River Mountain — considered to be the heart and soul of the ski resort — burned Wednesday evening in a fire that destroyed the structure.

What it means for the upcoming skiing, snowboarding and tubing season remains to be seen. The lodge may be the resort’s heart and soul, but the ski resort itself is the financial and recreation center for the community. There are 240 instructors employed there.
A spokesman for the resort told a reporter with the Bellefontaine Examiner newspaper that Mad River has “every intention of opening on time this season.”
