UPDATE (1:55 p.m.): Per Brian Cook of mgoblog.com, Wilton Speight broke his collarbone and will miss the remainder of the season.

Backup John O'Korn is expected to take his place.

Lost in Kirk Ferentz dumping Jim Harbaugh on Saturday night was the apparent injury to Michigan starting quarterback Wilton Speight.

From mlive.com:

Wilton Speight and Channing Stribling both appeared to suffer significant shoulder injuries in the fourth quarter.

"It hurts," Speight said after the game. "I got it checked out, but we'll look into it more when we get back to Ann Arbor."

Speight's came to his left shoulder and, after throwing on the sideline during a defensive series, returned to the game for the final drive. But it clearly was bothering him.

Harbaugh, who refuses to release weekly depth charts and routinely surrounds his team with an air of mystery, unsurprisingly played coy when asked about the situation Monday.

He did, however, mention that backups John O'Korn and Shane Morris woill get the "majority of reps" in the coming days:

O'Korn, the Houston transfer, would be the expected starter if Speight can't go. Tight end Jake Butt voiced his confidence in O'Korn, if it should come to that:

We may not truly know how serious Speight's injury is until Michigan's first possession against Indiana this Saturday in the Big House. With how Harbaugh rolls, Speight could either be 100% fine or his collar bone disintegrated—or anywhere in between.
