In what has become an all too familiar scene, OSU teased MichigaNIT for a half before pulling away to secure their 3rd straight win over the Wolverines, 72-62 in the 2nd round of the BigTen Tourney. Greg Oden led the charge with 22 points (15 in 2nd half) on 8-12 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds and just 1 turnover in 28 minutes. The Odenator was backed by 13 points and 6 dimes from Mike Conley and 16 points from a surging Ron Lewis. Ron-Ron has now scored 16 in back to back games and has reached double figures in 5 of his last 6 outings. The Buckeyes also received a shot in the arm from Daequan Cook with 9 points and 4 rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench. OSU turned it over just 5 times against 12 assists and shot 50% from the floor although they managed just 4-13 from distance (31%) and got outrebounded 40-24.

The outcome was never really in doubt although MichigaNIT did climb to within 3 at 52-49 with 7:49 remaining after a Lester Abram three pointer but Oden scored 5 straight points and Lewis hit 2 free throws to extend the lead to 59-49 with 6 minutes to go. In fact, MichigaNIT made just two field goals in the last 7:47. OSU held the Wolverines to 32% shooting on the game.

If you are in need of a laugh, Tommy Turtleneck had this quote regarding his team's chances of landing an NCAA bid:

"I don't think it's fair to say we will not make it," Amaker said. "We haven't been told we haven't been included in the tournament yet. I don't think we should assume that right now."
Uh...Whatever you say, Tommy. My advice would be to box yo sh!t up because your days are numbered.
