Jerquaden Guilford is quickly becoming an Ohio State fan favorite.
The newest wide receiver commit endeared himself to Ohio State fans already by reportedly taking less money to play for Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes instead of choosing Ole Miss when he committed earlier this month.
The Indiana product also made it a point to travel to Ohio to get some work in with five-star Ohio State 2027 wide receiver commit Jamier Brown, as the future teammates exchanged tips of the trade and worked out together alongside wide receiver trainer Dre Muhammad. Guilford and Brown documented their experience in a 30-minute video where they discuss their process of getting better on the field and Guilford opens up about his recruitment and playing for the Buckeyes.
Darius Gray committing on Aug. 22
Ohio State’s top remaining offensive line target has set a decision date. Five-star offensive lineman Darius Gray announced he’ll commit at 7 p.m. on Aug. 22 and choose from a final five of Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Gray took an official visit to Columbus earlier this summer and has visited Ohio State several times throughout his recruitment. Considered the No. 30 overall player and No. 2 interior offensive lineman prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports’ composite rankings, Gray has been aggressively pursued by all of his remaining suitors.
Ohio State remains in contact with Gray and views him as a standout player. Nonetheless, we’d definitely predict the field to win out over the Buckeyes on this one. Things could change at the last minute in this day and age, and OSU won’t give up until the end, but LSU and South Carolina have plenty of momentum right now.
Krew Jones puts Ohio State in his top 12
A standout defensive end in the 2027 class has narrowed his recruitment down to 12 schools. Utah four-star defensive end Krew Jones put out a top 12 Saturday consisting of Ohio State, Oregon, Florida State, Nebraska, USC, Washington, Oklahoma, BYU, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UCLA.

Jones visited Ohio State in May and was offered by the Buckeyes on that trip. He told Eleven Warriors a few days later that he was instantly intrigued by Ohio State.
“(Coach Day) just told me that he liked my talent, he was watching my film, he saw what I could do, and he just told me to keep working, and he sees me as a great big athlete and a great player for them,” Jones said of the offer … “I mean, that culture, that trophy room, you walk in there and it's like, ‘Wow.’ Huge. Their motto is like that fight, that brotherhood, they're developed here, that's big with them. That's something I just haven't seen in other schools, but yeah, it's that culture, that winning mentality.”
The 6-foot-5, 218-pound Jones is considered the No. 138 prospect and the No. 18 edge.
“(I’m) probably more speed, I've been told my twitchiness, my get-off has been good, but my transition from speed to power has been something that coaches have mentioned to me,” Jones said of how he’d describe his game. “So yeah, more of that edge, speed rusher, and yeah, using that power when I need it.”
Da’Ron Parks commits to Florida State
In an expected move, Ohio State wasn’t the team four-star offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks chose on Saturday, as the interior lineman committed to Florida State over the Buckeyes and Auburn.

With Parks no longer in the fold, Ohio State will continue to monitor other offensive linemen around the country this fall to identify late risers in the class and potential flip targets.
Breck Kolojay committing Friday, leaves OSU off his finalists
An offensive lineman who took an official visit to Ohio State this summer has set a commitment date, but the Buckeyes won’t be the team four-star offensive linemen Breck Kolojay picks. The Florida prospect will commit on Friday and choose from a group of finalists consisting of Colorado, Oklahoma, Miami, USC and Georgia.

Ohio State never had much momentum with Kolojay following the visit and will now turn its attention to Gray’s commitment scheduled for Aug. 22. For what it’s worth, USC seems the most likely destination for Kolojay.
