So, as of about 10 minutes ago, Scary Terry requested a trade from the 49ers.

Some thoughts on both sides' positions here:
- Terry wants to be paid $30M+ like other top WRs around the league - DK Metcalf was in his draft class and recently signed a $35M per year deal with the Steelers
- Given his value to the roster as their only elite true WR, his position as a captain, leader and respected locker room veteran, as well as his connection with sophomore QB Jayden Daniels, Terry has some leverage here.
- However, Terry is also entering his age 30 season, and the age curve is not friendly to WRs that are that old - their production tends to drop significantly over the following years
- The obvious counterpoint there is that Terry's production improved last year as he got older and finally had a decent QB throwing him the ball
- Terry publicly asking for a trade NOW, right before the NFL HOF game, meaning that he'll have the NFL media spotlight during the pregame discussions, is brilliant. Public opinion is definitely with Terry here.
- Washington's GM, Adam Peters, was with the 49ers when Brandon Aiyuk's contract dispute went down, and despite heavy trade rumors, they eventually got the deal done. With that said, Aiyuk's new contract turned into a bad investment for the Niners, so perhaps that gives Washington pause as well.
What do we all think? Does a deal get done before the season? Does Terry get traded? If so, to who?
