Bucknuts has alluded to a buckeye football player possibly deciding to transfer. Any info on if this is true, and if so, who it might be?

Brian Bobek maybe --- he was a big-time recruit coming out of high school, but keeps getting buried on the depth chart. That would be my guess.

I have no idea who it could be. My guess is it could be someone who is upset about their playing time or doesn't care for the system Urban runs. I couldn't see it being a big time player, unless its a younger guy worried about PT & depth chart concerns.

I thought we might lose a WR, at least one OL, I'm wondering what is going on with Hayes, and maybe one DB. Then we have a few guys who might go pro early.

1.) Brian Bobek (C)

2.) Kenny Hayes (DE)

3.) Corey "Pittsburgh" Brown (CB)

4.) Verlon Reed (WR)

5.) Chris Fields (WR)

What about Cardale Jones? I heard he wasn't very happy after lack of playing time for the spring game.

This is the kind of thing that could have been in the works for a while with maybe a couple players. Which is why when recruits are committing that we may not understand, it is due to this type of thing that we know nothing about. Someone needs to come up with an equivalent to the chill pill denoting "in Urban we trust." Whenever threads start doubting what's happening with recruiting, insert the stopper. Like a coin with Urbans picture with those words beneath it. HaHa!

they are saying it's Bobek....wouldn't shock me considering they chose to start Linsley at C over him and Jacoby Boren was named #2 C on the depth chart after one week of spring ball

I think OSU will use multiple RBs this season and probably for the next few years so Rod will get carries so long as he holds onto the football...if he wants to be the featured back then I suppose he should leave but I dont think he will if he gets touches.

Bobek was the one linemen in his class I liked.. The other three could leave for sure IMO

Don't we need OLine depth at least through this year? Would seem like losing OLineman would be a bad thing. Even if he is just a backup.

Antonio Underwood is a decent backup. Chris Carter Jr and Michael Bennett are on the defensive line right now. Tommy Brown is the only one I am not sure of, is he even still on the team?

so I am not sure which other 3 you could care less about?

Okay. I would still like to keep all those guys, if anything for depth. Heck, Chris Carter might actually be a beast this year!

Underwood has been as solid as Bobek as a backup. Neither one will probably start but I wouldn't write him off!

As far as O Line depth, it might not be ideal for Bobek to transfer, but it does appear he's behind Linsley and Boren at Center. As for backup O Line, we do have O'Connor, Dodson, and Elflein coming this Summer or before Fall. It wouldn't be surprising for O'Connor and Dodson (assuming he's healthy) to get into the 2-deep fairly quickly, and I get a feeling Elflein could surprise some people as well.
