Almost full guys, and not to be persumptious about a guys like Bosa and Pocic but assuming they're already in. Here's a list of guys imo who we better find a way to accomidate should they still wanna be a part of this class:
1) James Quick- maybe the best athlete in this class overrall, certainly among top tier. Haven't seen anyone play this fast on film since Rocket Ismail. He can help Thad and the fellas out as well cuz he's a beast on the court too.
2) Derrick Green- his combination of work ethic and talent level is unparalleled. The kid was 270 lbs. as a freshman running a 5 sec 40 time. Now he's a chiselled 225lb machine consistently timed in the low 4.3's. Not to mention a lifelong Buckeye and Eddie George fan.
3) Jaylon Smith- no explanation needeed! (to bad he's a longshot)
4)Vonn Bell- BIG TIME game changing safety. This kid stands out on film defensively similar to Quick. When its all said and done this guy could be the best player in this entire class PERIOD. I feel that strongly about him, just pay attention to how he's rising up the boards. Combine his talent level and the fact that the kid gushed About UM, th family atmosphere and his love for the campus...Just enough lean for me.
5) MacKensie Alexander- One of the best pure cover cb's in the nation, and still a position of need.
6) Maurice Hurst Jr.- I know we're loaded on the DL but he's a true NT with NFL pedigree (you don't turn those guys away). Oh and the kid is busting 70yd+ touchdown runs @ 300 lbs on his highlight tape...Nuff said
Like i said, just my opinion. Curious to here your lists

Green and Smith. No and no. I think there is room for the other 4 and those are guys at the top of my list.
I'd be surprised about Hurst because if Bosa joins the class then I don't see him being a priority. I think Green is on the way out, but could be wrong. Smith is ND all the way at this point. Do we need Alexander? Woodard and Burrows arent enough at corner?
Woodard, Burrows, and Reeves will hold down the CB spots for us...You may be right though, if he wants to be a Buckeye...would we turn him down?
I don't think Alexander would get turned down if he wanted in. I think it'd be a very interesting situation because you have Doran Grant stepping up, Roby, Reeves (although I think he wont be just a corner for OSU), the guy from Glenville thats coming in, and Woodard and Burrows (both of whom I think will be star corners for Ohio State in the future). Be very interesting if Alexander tried to commit.
Dont forget Najee Murray and Tyvus Powell also in there with Reeves
So has Quick now surpassed Treadwell as the big catch for OSU at WR? I was under the impression Treadwell was thought of just a little more highly than Quick.
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
I think Quick is the more realistic get at this point OLDCOLUMBUSTOWN. They are completely different players and OSU would love to have both. I still think Treadwell is a "Michigan lean" even though he won't announce until after his senior season, but Quick is completely up for grabs.
I will be the first to admit I may have been wrong about Quick. OSU wasn't paying him too much attention early on, but they've really picked it up lately. I wouldn't even be shocked at this point if he commits to the Bucks after this weekend when Urban goes all out.
Be nice to add another playmaker like Jalin. This idea of 'CANT SAY NO' to these kids is really interesting simply because of the limitations on scholarships and being very picky because of it. Wonder what that CANT SAY NO conversation would be like between Urban and one of the top recruits as he tries and fill the needs of the class first.
I think Mackensie Alexander is an elite talent and you leave a spot for him if he wants in, but I don't agree with you that cornerback is still a position of need.. Pointless argument though because we both agree that he is in if he wants.
I also don't think Hurst is a must get.. I see the need for inside tackles, especially with word from Sprinkle that they want him to play edge rusher, but with the DLine haul we've had the past two years it's almost overkill at this point. Bosa is so talented that you let him in, but I'm not particularly excited for any more DL.
We absolutely agree on Vonn Bell (I put Dymonte Thomas higher), Derrick Green, Jaylon Smith, and James Quick. I'm personally a big fan of Cornelius Elder as well but I don't see that happening.
If we're reallt talking "Can't say no", I think it goes Jaylon Smith, Vonn Bell, James Quick. I think Hurst is, like you said, a true nose tackle, and maybe doesn't fit the system as well. But Bell is beast, and I liked Quick's film much better than Treadwell's for our offense. Maybe Alexander, but i don't think he's a guy that you make a new spot for, his a guy that will eagerly be accepted if there's room. As much as I like Derrick Green, if we're full we're full, and we have depth at rb for years to come, so he might be on the outside looking in.
I think some of OL recruits need to be added to this list. Big position of need.
Is that really true? I find that VERY hard to believe.
It is true its pretty well documented. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEiraGMJlQY thats a video from some camp that he attended I believe in the summer of his freshman year. He had already slimmed down a bit but it makes the point.
Ok guys @ the very least give me Bell and Quick...Damn sanctions!!!
@Scarlet Buckeye Here are the details on Green's transformation:

After this weekend we could be set at LB with commitments from Love and Anzalone. But you can't say no to Jaylon Smith. He's been tearing up camps and is one of the most athletic prospects in the class of '13. To me, this is the definition of a "can't say no prospect," a guy you take even when you don't need another body at the position.
@ahh saturday- agreed!!!
I actually think there's more than 6
Smith, Anzalone, Green, Bosa, Daniel, Cravens, Bell, Alexander, Pocic, Quick, Gibson, Tunsil (not that we have a shot) But theres no way we land everyone of these guys
OK all, 1st post, but long time reader so here goes... I think we're full at RB and will let Green go elsewhere. He's a great kid and great prospect, but the OL and WR ought to be higher priority. Agree with Smith, Quick, Bell, and Alexander, and truthfully, I also think Hurst will be awesome. If Bosa does truly stay at DE, then we should focus on an interior space eater. I'd like to see Sprinkle move inside myself, but several posts say he's been talked to about being a rush end.
Welcome Majbucksfan! We're in total agreement, keep posting!
I assume this list already considers Bosa, Gibson, Anzalone and Heuerman as commits? I wouldn't say no to Bosa at all. He is a beast and just feels like he has scarlet and gray running through his blood!
Why is Jaylon a long shot? Haven't been following recruiting as much as I did in Feb.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Squirrel: I actually think we could say no to all of those (except maybe Bosa). If we knew of other players ahead of them (Smith, Treadwell, Alexander, Cravens/Bell, Pocic) I would say no to the rest.
I guess my point is that all of the players you named as leans/locks are great players and anyone should be excited to have them, but because recruiting is going so well, we have the luxury of turning away some great guys.
That said, I do think all of the guys you named will be Buckeyes and will do great things for us. Can't wait for the weekend!!
Buckeyevstheworld: Can't cofirm cause he's tryin to play it close to the vest, but all indications point to him going with Noter Dame.
Wow. Unbelievable. Thanks @WILLIAM!
Hello all, first post, been reading the site since nov though, quick question regarding recruiting (b/c i have only been following it for a short while and have no clue). If one our commited players enrolls early, like what happened with the 2012 class, will that free up more scholarships? Say Meyer gives out "yea you can commit but you need to enroll early" type of offers to players, would that allow us to take "more" than orginally planned? I seem to remember with all of the 2012 guys who enrolled early, we were able to take on some more players to finish the 2012 class.
^No. Spots were freed up due to transfers and dismissals from the team.
Ah, that makes sense... thanks bud
Enrolling early only helps numbers if you're close to being over 25 scholarships that you're allowed to give each year. However I believe you can only backdate up to 3 scholarships per year (but you can have more than 3 kids enroll early) and you still can't go over 25 scholarships for the season you're backdating the scholarships to. So if you had 25 in the previous class you won't be able to count any early enrollees into that. It has no bearing on the total number scholarships which is a hard 85 (82 for the next couple of classes for OSU due to sanctions).
Welcome to 11W, Timmeh. Glad to have you.
Class of 2008
We really need to stop refferring to Urban Meyer as "UM." For obvious reasons. Just spell out Urban or Meyer guys, haha. Its not that hard.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
pshh...UFM!!...i prefer the 'f' to be 'f*(kin' though
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
That could still stand for "University of fucking Michigan" though! Haha, guess its not a big deal. I just have to do a double take everytime I read "UM" on this site and others.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
per twitter, Derrick Green "probably" going to Virginia Tech spring game tomorrow
UFM is the preferred vernacular...I always thought the "f" was for f-ing, too. Frank is pretty weak
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
