According to the published reports, freshman defensive end Nathan Williams was arrested yesterday for allegedly swiping three shirts valued at $80 from a Macy's in Beavercreek. (HT: Matt & J.B.)
At least from the cost they don't appear to be any hideous Ed Hardy's. (Probably dating myself with that comment but I couldn't wear one of those at gunpoint.)
No word yet from Tressel. You think he still makes the trip to Tempe considering he's a first time offender? I gotta believe he'll stay home.
UPDATE 8:32PM: The Dispatch reports Williams claims he simply took the fall for a friend that might have gone to the slammer due to previous trangressions. Stay tuned...

I doubt Keith Wells will play in the bowl game because I think he is red shirted and I personally know a player from the team and he has told me Keith Wells hasn't came along like the coaches thought he would. He is fast and is what we need for speed on the line so maybe next year but for now Gibson and Wilson (if he is back in time from his knee injury) should hold us up well on the D line.

Does anyone even know what the status and availability for Wilson and Hines on the D? Our D looked sooo good before those 2 got injured. Improved pass rush from Wilson and Gibson and then Hines was just everywhere like a Mike Doss kinda guy. We could kinda use that for Texas ya know....

I remember that fondly, and I know now I'll never make that mistake again. Though it hasn't been the first time... nor the last... that I've been yelled at by someone's mother since I've been down here. Alas...
On Williams, suprising to say the least. One of the things I had regarded as most impressive in the 2008 recruiting class is that all of the kids in them were high character, Williams included. I'd expect an underage drinking charge (I'm not dumb, I know what those kids do. It's counterproductive, but it is college.) before something like this.
We all hope for the rebound, though. I think in Williams' case, we'll see it.

Chris... I couldn't agree more about the kid being an idiot reguardless. As far as what he did before, I don't know exactly what he did, but there was a few games Williams was on the sideline from what the coaches said was a "shoulder injury", but some whispers said it was due to him being in JTs dog house.
Like you Chris, I haven't seen anything to back that comment up and hope that it's false. I will say that the games Williams missed wouldn't suggest he was in trouble (He missed the first two games and then the only other two games he missed weren't back to back like you would see due to discipline).
I wouldn't say it's a fact, just something I rember hearing earlier in the year.
JB..I dont doubt your initial claim, just don't recall hearing anything. Nothing surprises me with 18 year old kids, especially those playing big time college football. I don't even want to imagine what I'd be capable of if in the same situation.
Hell yeah, congratulations to Jenkins. One of my all time favorites, and now he has some hardware to take home with him. So glad he came back for his senior year, here's hoping he set a model for future players in the years to come.

Williams story of having to work his ass off to see playing time was one of the bright spots during the season. Especially, since he was behind everyone in training and time with the team so he could graduate high school. Some friend he has there stealing a few shirts and then asking Williams to take the fall. If it were me I'd told him to screw off. I would hate to see it but, I hope Tressel leaves his dumb ass in Columbus. He has to understand the higher standards he has to live up to now and hopefully this is the last time we hear anything negative about this kid.

I don't see Nathan seeing the field in the Fiesta with this, which does hurt, but hopefully he learns this lesson before he gets to the bigger leagues. Your friends will bring you down if you aren't careful.
