Jayden Fielding is getting a chance to play professional football.

The former Ohio State kicker signed with the Canadian Football League’s Ottawa Redblacks on Tuesday.

Fielding heads north of the border after going undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft.

In three years as Ohio State’s starting kicker, Fielding made 45 of 57 field goal attempts and 178 of 179 extra point attempts, finishing his career fifth in school history with 313 career points. His career was highlighted by the game-clinching kick in the 2024 national championship game, a 33-yard field goal to secure a 34-23 win over Notre Dame.

His career ended on a low note, however, as he missed the final two kicks of his Ohio State career, including a 27-yard kick with the game on the line in the fourth quarter of the Buckeyes’ 13-10 loss to Indiana in the 2025 Big Ten Championship Game. He never made a field goal of 50 yards or longer in his Ohio State career, though he demonstrated his leg strength at Ohio State’s pro day by making a 57-yard field goal.

Now, Fielding will look to prove he has what it takes to play professionally in Ottawa. He’s the second kicker signed by the Redblacks this offseason, joining CFL veteran Brett Lauther, who’s a career 81.4% kicker in the CFL but made just 72.2% of his attempts (39 of 54) in 2025.
