Ohio State's nonconference schedule for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons just added a lot more difficulty.
The Buckeyes are scheduling a home-and-home series with UConn, the 2025 NCAA Tournament champions and 2026 NCAA Tournament runner-up, for those two campaigns.
Ohio State will play at UConn in the 2026-27 season before the Huskies travel to Columbus for the rematch in 2027-28. The Buckeyes have already scheduled three other power conference opponents for 2026-27: Neutral-site games with BYU and Kansas and a road contest at Notre Dame, the conclusion of a home-and-home with the Fighting Irish that started this past year.
This year's meeting will be the seventh all-time between Ohio State and UConn, with the Buckeyes holding a 4-2 record all-time against the Huskies. OSU won the previous meeting between them in 2016 by a 64-60 scoreline.
UConn has achieved great heights under head coach Dan Hurley in the past several seasons. As Jake Diebler seeks similar – or even comparable – peaks for his program, the Huskies will be a great litmus test.
