Ohio State is the second-best team in EA Sports College Football 27.

On Tuesday, EA Sports released every school's overall rating in CFB 27, with Ohio State coming in at 90 overall. The Buckeyes also boast the No. 1 offense (92 overall) and the No. 7 defense (88 overall) in the game.

In an offseason when the Big Ten vs. SEC debate has intensified amid College Football Playoff expansion discussions, the Big Ten flexes the top three overall teams in CFB 27: Oregon (91 overall), Ohio State and Indiana (90 overall). Notre Dame checks in at No. 4 with an 89 overall rating, while Texas becomes the first SEC program to appear at No. 5, also at 89. The rest of the top 10 features four more SEC teams, with LSU (88), Miami (88), Ole Miss (88), Georgia (87) and Oklahoma (87) completing the list.

Ohio State's top-ranked offense is powered by a star-studded roster headlined by Jeremiah Smith, the game's lone 99 overall player. Early leaks for CFB 27 also had quarterback Julian Sayin rated 94 overall, while offensive guard Luke Montgomery (92) and offensive tackle Austin Siereveld (90) are among the Buckeyes' other highest-rated players.

Ohio State's defense, which ranked No. 1 nationally last season but must replace several key contributors in 2026, checks in at No. 7 in CFB 27. The Buckeyes trail Oregon (91), Indiana (90), Notre Dame (90), Texas Tech (90), Georgia (89) and Alabama (89) on that side of the ball. Among known Ohio State defensive ratings, defensive end Kenyatta Jackson Jr. currently leads the way at 90 overall.
