Former Memphis guard Curtis Givens III committed to the Buckeyes on Thursday, he announced on Instagram.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder averaged 9.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 43.1% from the field and 36.5% from beyond the arc in 25.6 minutes a contest. Givens missed seven games due to several injuries last season, but he played in 25 games, including 15 starts.

Even though he missed time, the Memphis, Tennessee product was second on the Tigers in minutes per game and led Memphis in 3-point efficiency while averaging 3.8 3-pointers per game this past season.
Givens improved as a shooter quite a bit from his freshman season at LSU (32 games, 12 starts) to his sophomore year at Memphis, including his shooting percentage (26.9% to 43.1%), 3-pointer percentage (24.6% to 36.5%) and free-throw percentage (59.1% to 66.1%). His eFG% also increased from 34.9% to 52.4%.

Ohio State has also added former California guard Justin Pippen, former Kentucky forward Andrija Jelavić and former Duquesne guard Jimmie Williams from the portal. The Buckeyes could seek more depth at wing following the addition of Givens. More depth in the frontcourt is on the table, too.
After spending his freshman season at LSU, Givens transferred to Memphis for his second collegiate season. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
